About WebP
Why images arrive as WebP.
WebP is an image format Google released in 2010. Websites serve it because files are smaller than JPG or PNG at the same look, so pictures you save from the web often end in .webp. Every current browser shows it, but some editors, print services and upload forms still do not accept it.
- PNG keeps transparency and every pixel, so it is the right target for logos, stickers and anything you will edit.
- For photos, a JPG is much smaller: convert with the 200KB compressor, which accepts WebP.
- Animated WebP files are saved as a single still frame.
