90 looks the same as the original for most photos. Lower makes a smaller file.
How to
Convert TIFF to JPG.
- 1Choose your .tif or .tiff files, or drop them on the box. Up to 50 at once.
- 2Set the JPG quality (90 looks like the original). A single-page TIFF becomes one JPG; a multi-page TIFF becomes one JPG per page, together in a ZIP.
- 3Download each JPG, or Download all to get one ZIP file.
About TIFF
Why TIFF files need converting.
TIFF is the format of scanners, fax software, print shops and medical and GIS systems. It can hold many pages, high bit depths and lossless compression, which is why scans arrive as .tif. But only Safari shows TIFF in a browser, and most upload forms want JPG or PDF.
- The decoder reads the common TIFF compressions: none, LZW, Deflate (ZIP), PackBits, JPEG and CCITT Group 3 and 4 fax.
- Each page becomes its own JPG, at the page’s full size. Transparent areas are filled with white.
- Need all the pages in one file? Use the TIF to PDF converter. Need a small file for a form? Drop the TIFF into the 200KB compressor; it reads TIFF too (first page).
FAQ
Questions people ask first.
- How do I convert TIFF to JPG?
- Drop the TIFF into the tool above and press Download. A single-page TIFF gives one JPG; a multi-page TIFF gives a ZIP with one JPG per page.
- Can it convert a multi-page TIFF?
- Yes. Every page is converted, named page-1, page-2 and so on, and delivered together in one ZIP.
- Does TIFF to JPG lose quality?
- A little, as with any JPG. At quality 90 the difference is hard to see, and the file is usually many times smaller than the TIFF.
- Why can’t my browser open TIFF files?
- Chrome, Edge and Firefox do not include a TIFF decoder; only Safari does. This page loads one (about 100 KB) the first time you add a TIFF.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Your browser opens and converts the files on your own device. Nothing is sent to Daniotech or anyone else.
