Page size
90 looks the same as the original for most photos. Lower makes a smaller file.

How to

Convert TIF to PDF.

  1. 1Choose your .tif or .tiff files, or drop them on the box. Up to 50 at once.
  2. 2Choose the page size (the scan’s own size, A4 or Letter) and the JPEG quality used for the pages. Each TIFF becomes one PDF with all its pages.
  3. 3Download each PDF, or Download all to get one ZIP file.

How it works

Every page, at the right size.

Each page of the TIFF is decoded, saved as a JPEG and placed on its own PDF page. With “the scan’s own size”, the page size comes from the TIFF’s resolution: an A4 page scanned at 300 DPI (2480 × 3508 pixels) comes out as an A4 page again. If the file has no resolution, large images are treated as 300 DPI scans.

  • Fax files (CCITT Group 3 and 4) and LZW, Deflate, PackBits and JPEG compressed TIFFs all work.
  • Quality 85 to 90 keeps text crisp while making the PDF much smaller than the TIFF.
  • The PDF holds pictures of the pages, so the text cannot be selected or searched. That needs OCR, which this tool does not do.
  • Want separate images instead? Use TIFF to JPG.

FAQ

Questions people ask first.

How do I convert TIF to PDF?
Drop the TIF file into the tool above, choose a page size, and download the PDF. All pages of a multi-page TIF end up in one PDF, in order.
Can I convert a multi-page TIFF to one PDF?
Yes; that is the default. Each TIFF file becomes one PDF with one page per TIFF page.
Will the PDF be the same size as my paper scan?
With “the scan’s own size”, yes, when the TIFF records its resolution (most scanners do). Or choose A4 or Letter to fit each page on that paper size.
Can I convert several TIFF files at once?
Yes, up to 50. Each becomes its own PDF, and Download all gives you one ZIP.
Is the text in the PDF searchable?
No. The pages are images; making the text searchable needs OCR software.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your browser opens and converts the files on your own device. Nothing is sent to Daniotech or anyone else.
