Hide it so it stays hidden.
- Use big blocks. A light blur or small pixels can sometimes be partly reversed or recognised; strong pixelation removes the detail for good.
- Cover the whole area, including reflections and name badges, and check the result at full size before sharing.
- The saved file contains only the edited pixels: the original detail is not stored underneath.
- Photos also carry hidden data such as the GPS location. Remove it with remove EXIF data before posting.
FAQ
Questions people ask first.
- How do I pixelate part of an image?
- Open the image in the tool above and drag a box over the area. Draw as many boxes as you need, then download.
- How do I blur a face in a photo?
- Choose Blur, drag a box over the face and raise the strength until it cannot be recognised. Pixelate hides faces more reliably than a light blur.
- Can I pixelate the whole image?
- Yes. Tick “Whole image” and set the block size.
- Can pixelation be undone?
- Not from this file: the hidden area is replaced, not layered. Very light pixelation of text can sometimes be guessed, so use a high strength for anything sensitive.
- Is my photo uploaded?
- No. The editing happens in your browser and the photo stays on your device.
