Image compressor to 100KB
Settings
Optional. Leave both empty to keep the size; fill one to keep the shape; fill both for an exact size a form asks for (the picture is centred and trimmed to that shape, never stretched).
How to
Compress an image to 100KB.
- 1Choose one or more images, or drop them on the box. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and iPhone HEIC all work.
- 2Leave the target at 100KB, or type the size your form, marketplace or website asks for.
- 3Download each JPG, or Download all for one ZIP. Every file’s new size is shown, so you can see it is under 100KB before you upload.
What fits
How big a photo fits in 100KB.
| Long side | Shawl | Shoe | Jacket | Biker jacket |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 600 px | 95 | 90 | 86 | 95 |
| 800 px | 92 | 77 | 69 | 95 |
| 1000 px | 82 | 59 | 44 | 94 |
| 1400 px | – | – | – | 87 |
| 1800 px | – | – | – | 71 |
Highest JPG quality (out of 100) that kept each photo at or under the limit. Measured 17 October 2026 with Pillow 11.3 (libjpeg-turbo) on 1024 × 1024 product photos and a 1792 × 2304 one ("Biker jacket"); browsers use their own encoders, so expect close, not identical, results. Around 80 and above looks like the original.
Rule of thumb: 100KB holds a sharp photo of 800 to 1,000 pixels across, the size most websites show. Product shots on plain backgrounds fit even larger, as the biker jacket shows.
Behind the scenes
Best quality that fits, never over.
The tool saves a JPG at quality 92 first. If that is over 100KB, it searches down to quality 40 for the highest setting that fits. Only if quality 40 is still too big does it shrink the picture, choosing a size where quality stays around 75, because fewer pixels at good quality look better than more pixels at poor quality. 1 KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, so the file also passes forms that count 1,024.
FAQ
Questions people ask first.
- How do I compress an image to 100KB?
- Open it in the tool above and press Download. The tool saves a JPG at the highest quality that stays under 100KB and only reduces the pixel size if it has to.
- How do I reduce a photo to 100KB without losing quality?
- Keep it about 800 pixels on the long side. In our tests 800 px photos fitted in 100KB at JPG quality 69 to 95, where the loss is hard to see. Full-size phone photos (4,000 px) must lose pixels to fit.
- What is 100KB in pixels?
- Roughly 800 to 1,000 pixels on the long side for a typical photo at good quality; more for simple pictures with plain backgrounds.
- Does it work on iPhone photos?
- Yes. JPG and HEIC photos both work; HEIC files are decoded by a converter the page downloads only when you add one.
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. The image is opened, compressed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is sent to Daniotech or any other server, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
