Image compressor to 30KB
Settings
Optional. Leave both empty to keep the size; fill one to keep the shape; fill both for an exact size a form asks for (the picture is centred and trimmed to that shape, never stretched).
How to
Compress an image to 30KB.
- 1Choose one or more images, or drop them on the box. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and iPhone HEIC all work.
- 2Leave the target at 30KB, or type another size. Add a width and height only if they are fixed.
- 3Download each JPG, or Download all for one ZIP. Every file’s new size is shown, so you can see it is under 30KB before you upload.
What fits
How many pixels fit in 30KB.
| Long side | Shawl | Shoe | Jacket | Biker jacket |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 300 px | 95 | 87 | 84 | 95 |
| 400 px | 93 | 71 | 62 | 95 |
| 600 px | 72 | 28 | 20 | 90 |
| 800 px | 35 | 13 | 9 | 76 |
Highest JPG quality (out of 100) that kept each photo at or under the limit. Measured 17 October 2026 with Pillow 11.3 (libjpeg-turbo) on 1024 × 1024 product photos and a 1792 × 2304 one ("Biker jacket"); browsers use their own encoders, so expect close, not identical, results. Around 80 and above looks like the original.
Rule of thumb: for 30KB, about 400 pixels on the long side keeps a photo clear. That is plenty for a form photo or a profile picture. Stricter limit? Use the 20KB or 10KB tool.
Behind the scenes
Best quality that fits, never over.
The tool saves a JPG at quality 92 first. If that is over 30KB, it searches down to quality 40 for the highest setting that fits. Only if quality 40 is still too big does it shrink the picture, choosing a size where quality stays around 75, because fewer pixels at good quality look better than more pixels at poor quality. 1 KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, so the file also passes forms that count 1,024.
FAQ
Questions people ask first.
- How do I compress an image to 30KB?
- Open it in the tool above and download the JPG. The tool keeps the highest quality that stays at or under 30KB and makes the picture smaller in pixels only if it must.
- How many pixels is a 30KB photo?
- About 400 pixels on the long side at good quality, from our tests: at 400 × 400 pixels our photos fitted at JPG quality 62 to 95. At 600 pixels the detailed ones dropped to quality 20 to 30.
- Can I compress a PNG to 30KB?
- Yes. The result is a JPG, because a PNG photo is far too big to reach 30KB. Transparent parts turn white.
- Will the file be exactly 30KB?
- No, just under it: usually between 27 and 30KB, because the tool stops at the highest quality step that fits.
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. The image is opened, compressed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is sent to Daniotech or any other server, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
