Image compressor to 10KB
Settings
Optional. Leave both empty to keep the size; fill one to keep the shape; fill both for an exact size a form asks for (the picture is centred and trimmed to that shape, never stretched).
How to
Compress an image to 10KB.
- 1Choose one or more images, or drop them on the box. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and iPhone HEIC all work.
- 2If the form gives a pixel size (photos are often about 200 × 230, signatures about 140 × 60), type it in Width and Height. Otherwise leave them empty.
- 3Download each JPG, or Download all for one ZIP. Every file’s new size is shown, so you can see it is under 10KB before you upload.
What fits
How many pixels fit in 10KB.
| Long side | Shawl | Shoe | Jacket | Biker jacket |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 150 px | 95 | 88 | 87 | 95 |
| 200 px | 93 | 71 | 67 | 95 |
| 300 px | 76 | 26 | 21 | 88 |
| 400 px | 41 | 12 | 10 | 70 |
Highest JPG quality (out of 100) that kept each photo at or under the limit. Measured 17 October 2026 with Pillow 11.3 (libjpeg-turbo) on 1024 × 1024 product photos and a 1792 × 2304 one ("Biker jacket"); browsers use their own encoders, so expect close, not identical, results. Around 80 and above looks like the original.
Rule of thumb: 10KB holds a clear photo of about 200 pixels on the long side, which is the size passport-style form photos use anyway. A signature on white paper fits easily; clean it first with the signature resizer.
Behind the scenes
Best quality that fits, never over.
The tool saves a JPG at quality 92 first. If that is over 10KB, it searches down to quality 40 for the highest setting that fits. Only if quality 40 is still too big does it shrink the picture, choosing a size where quality stays around 75, because fewer pixels at good quality look better than more pixels at poor quality. 1 KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, so the file also passes forms that count 1,024.
FAQ
Questions people ask first.
- How do I compress an image to 10KB?
- Open it in the tool above and press Download. The tool saves a JPG at the highest quality that stays at or under 10KB, and reduces the pixel size only when it has to. Type a width and height first if your form fixes them.
- Can a photo really be 10KB?
- Yes, if it is small in pixels. In our tests every photo fitted in 10KB at good quality at 200 pixels on the long side. At 400 pixels the detailed ones dropped to quality 10 to 41, which looks blocky.
- What size is a 10KB image in pixels?
- About 150 to 250 pixels on the long side for a photo, depending on detail. Plain pictures (a face against a light wall, a signature on white paper) fit more pixels than busy ones.
- My form wants 10KB to 20KB. Will this work?
- Set the target to 20KB instead: the tool picks the highest quality that fits, so the result usually lands just under 20KB, above the 10KB minimum.
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. The image is opened, compressed and saved by your own browser. Nothing is sent to Daniotech or any other server, and the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
